I decided to clean up and delete old iamge files, both locally and on the remote site. After this i found that I could no longer upload my changed index page and got the message " An FTP error occured. Cannot make connection to host. 425 Could not open data connection to port 5005: connection timed out"
To make matters worse, by trying to upload the changes, the index file on the server was now totally empty of data, so my website was now a blank page on the www. I thought I'd still be able to view sub pages such as www.mysite.co.uk/index/shop.htm but that was simply a blank page on the Internet too. I re-loaded Dreamweaver, used a previous system restore point for Windows MX, but all to no avail. Thank fully I had a backup on a laptop, so I can edit my site via that.
What on Earth have I done on my desktop? Have I deleted a vital file? and most of all how to I fix this? I hope someone can help!
