Best type of dropdown menus

I have seen both Javascript and asp.net component dropdown menu systems. Can anyone tell me which is better in terms of browser compatibility. I think it would be asp.net but I'm not exactly sure why. Any advice appreciated.

I will have to agree that ASP.NET menus would be my first choice over javascript menus.

Browsers might have compatibility issues with javascript, and most have features where they can turn it off completely, thereby rendering your menus useless.

With ASP.NET menus, all the work is processed on the server first, and presented in straight HTML.

ASP.NET would be because it is server side. I also like the BrotherCake menus as well
