my IIS stopped working suddenly what to do?

i have win xp pro and installed norton anti virus 2005 last night and after installing it.. it stopped working but i removed some viruses then it worked again. now it stopped working again and ive no viruses cuz i just scanned my pc again so what to do?

when i type [localhost...] it stays like that forever and dont find anything

When that happens try taking a look at the Services to make sure IIS is running. Should be listed under World Wide Web Publishing Service. It sounds like your Anti Virus Software installation stopped the service for installation purposes.

You can also fire it up from the command line with: iisreset
