Will it affect PR

Hi, I am running a small e shop and am concerned (after a hack attack) of shoppers security. The site uses paypal, which of course transfers users to paypals secure site.

Now having set up an ssl certificate and trying out the https address, I found the pr of the shop was non existant.
Yet using the ordinary http the pr was as usual. Is this a danger to the sites ranking? It is doing quite well.
Help appreciated.

Changing over to https:// is the same as changing the page name, you're basically putting up a new page that doesn't have any links or any inbound links.

But you only need to SSL the payment processing pages, the rest of the shop can be left as it is.

Is it possible to use a htaccess file with a permanent redirect from the http to the https? I have read that this is search engine friendly. But yes, I understand that only part of the shop needs a SSL.

Thanks for that, I appreciate it.
