Hello there,

i would need some help:

My company has many Content Managers updating around 50 websites with Macromedia Contribute.

The Content Manager work with the files in a Stage Server, which is the mirror server for many others Live Servers.

When we need to upload the updated files from Stage Server to the Live Servers, we donīt a proper solution for doing this, becuase uploading all sites together will cost ages.

We tried with SitePublisher in order to synchronize the servers and only upload those modified files... but the program collapses. It can handle so many sites.

Do you habe idea how could we solve this?
I donīt want right now to go for a CMS. We are happy with Contribute because it is easy to use and more flexible for SEO.

Thanks for the replies!

Look for something called Synchronex - extremely well hidden, extremely useful.

We moved onto it from Site Publisher - it does all comparisons locally, and then proceeds to upload only changed files. So far, worked flawlessly, though getting it through the firewall ftp proxy took a while.

You can create a .bat file for each of your sites, specify exclude lists, all the usual stuff.

Downside? - it uses Windows inbuilt FTP, so no muli-threaded uploads.

On *ix or OSX I'd recommend rsync [samba.anu.edu.au] (not sure about a Windoze soln).
