I'm looking for a piece of software (and/or code) that I can use to take a screenshot of a website. It doesn't have to bring back the whole site, only what would be viewable in a 1024x768 (or 800x600) browser window. What I want is that it outputs it to an image file. (If it can resize it too, that would be awesome.) The goal would be to automate this process.

Anyone know of any programs/libraries that can do this? Or if there is sample code out there, I'd take that too.

thanks,

Sounds like you don't need a scrolling capability, but if the website did scroll vertically and you wanted to capture the offscreen portions, you'd need a utility that is designed to capture large scrollable areas.

I've just encountered this problem myself, and have found two that sound pretty good, but I haven't yet installed them.

One is SnagIt from TechSmith. The other is CaptureWizPro. Has anyone compared the two?
