1. Can we give 301s for individual pages, or does it have to be a whole URL? I've heard examples of it working like; www.widgets.com/old_directory/the_old_page.htm to: www.widgets.com/new_directory/the_new_page.htm. Is this accurate?
2. Is it possible to set up a 301 in a IIS environment?
From a post here in July
in internet services manager, right click on the file or folder you wish to redirect. Select the radio titled "a redirection to a URL". Enter the redirection page, check "The exact url entered above" and the "A permanent redirection for this resource". Click "Apply".Does that method give the robots a 301 - moved permanently statement?
Thanks.
