I need to do a special job for a friend which requires 300 pixels per square inch in an image.

Naturally, all my settings in Photo Shop are set for web photos.

Does anyone know where or how I can change to 300 pixels per square inch? Can this be done in PhotoShop or do I need another programme?

I doubt you are being asked for 300 pixels per square inch, I will assume you mean 300 pixels (or if print, dots) per inch? This setting can be made in the "resolution" box under Image->Image Size.

Please note, however, that your screen will probably not be able to display the higher resolution, so the image will appear larger.

It sounds like your being asked to create 'Print Ready' versions at 300dpi.

Yes ... print ready is apparently what they want. I have never done this before. Is it possible using a digital shot and limited knowledge of photoshop?

When you say Digital Shot are you talking about your digital camera?

As long as it supports that high of a resolution then you should be able to accomplish what you need. Does you camera take high resolution shots?
