I looking to upgrade our antique copy of NetSheild.

The server is mainly a webserver, with a little email traffic. Mdeamon antivirus is doing a sterling job for email, but I'm after a package that'll protect against everything else, without adversely affecting the speed that the server serves pages...

I'm assuming that just sticking a copy of 'off the shelf' Norton AV would affect things? or am i wrong and its fine for web server use?

Any help or experiences with AV for webservers would be appreciated.

The current Norton desktop solutions will not install on a server OS, even if it's just one machine running a simple webserver.

You might want to stick with what you have, or find an old version of Norton. I have a W2K server I use for development in my home and I'm still running 2001 because that's what will work.

If you want Norton, you'll have to buy the corporate edition.
