I am looking at the option of Monetising premium content for a niche segment.
I am particularly looking at php and mysql coded script which should also have a built in payment handling feature.
What are the factors should i consider in such a script?
1. Subscription based
2. View per article based
And what other features should i take it account for more functionality and ease of sales?
Also, if there is any application avaliable off the shelf, kindly PM me the url's ( as they cannot be posted here ). I tried search hotscripts, but nothing similiar to what i am searching for.

Creating a web application that allows you to charge for page views or access to a range of pages is a complex task. You need to set up payment processing including a secure checkout system (or you can integrate with a third party). You need content management, user statistics tracking, navigation, etc...etc..
This isn't some script you can download from hotscripts. You're either going to be paying an ASP to rent you their application, or paying a developer to write you a custom app, depending on what you want.

I am not a programmer, but i can say, it isn't that difficult as long as i can accept payments in cents or just a dollar or two per view. As long as that can be economical, it can work. Infact, i have sen such a model on newweek or some other site ( i don't remember ) when the monetising of the web era began.
Okay back to the features aspect, i was also considering the following :
3. Ad supported paid cotent
4. Ad-Free paid content at a higher price.
Any other inputs for such a script to monetise the content would be very helpful.
