I need to be able to edit my pages on their server
unique IP address (I've read the discussions here on virtual hosting and have come across a service that offers a unique IP address on a virtual host, which is fine)

Does anyone know anything about Hypermart? or BlueGravity?
I've spent hours searching for the right host. Can anyone
help to save what's left of my sanity?
With Hypermart, my experience with their customer support is a bit touchy. There was a problem with htaccess not "working", and when I wrote them, several days later I received a snippy reply stating that the only use for htaccess is password protection, and I was advised to go hire a web designer. This was not their paid hosting, this was free hosting (banned from AV), so I can't tell beyond that.
I know it takes a while to dig out hosts, but it's an important choice. I have heard that www.pair.com is good - and there are a number of companies that use alabanza leased boxes (Linux/Apache) that have good deals that are full-featured, and offer editing through an online control panel.
They offer a dedicated IP and a whole lot of features for a reasonable price.
AIT....never again.
Interland ...bottom of the barrel.
I-Interactive....too expensive and wishy-washy tech support.
DataPipe... SO FAR has been the best of the ones I've used. I ALWAYS get a human on the phone and have NEVER sat on hold more than a minute. That to me is extremely important.
Tech support is 100%....none of this "I'll have to escalate this" crap you get elsewhere.
I was looking at BlueGravity...looks like they are a reseller for another company which could mean trouble on tech support.
They have installed things for me that I would have not done if I was a host and done it for free.
It is a small business with low overhead that has good customer service and focuses on repeat business rather than volume.
Cost is 15.00 a month for their basic package that meets most web sites needs. I originally selected them for the speed of their server.
They also throw in freebees for their refering clients.
I am not looking for more freebees by posting this.
I like their services and would like to see them get more business.
