When I tried accessing my site today I was shocked to see it is being hijacked by a porn site. The stats bar shows www.mydomain.com/dumeyfolder/files but this folder does not exist on my server. Please help me to know what is happening as it is question of my reputation and business. I dont understand these such a mercy less technicians...

First thing you should do is contacting tech support of your hosting company - IMMEDIATELY.

What does your host have to say on the matter?

I'm confused as to why you say that the folder doesn't exist. When you type in the url, do you arrive at the porn site? If so and you're not seeing the files in your folder when you ftp but they are there through your browser then your server may have been compromised, or someone may have guessed or stolen your password.

There could be an altogether more innocent explanation, but if your host doesn't give you one it's time to move.

I have sent a mail to my host stating the issue and waiting for a reply. Have any one experienced such issue? Is that so easy to highjack a domain? I checked the whois informaion it is registered to my host and the expiry date is jan 2005

matrix_neo... yes, it's scary.

It happened to me on one of my dedicated severs a couple years ago. I immediately pulled the plug, and had my system administrator clean it all off and put what he called 'wrappers' all over it so the hackers can't get back in. It took about an hour and things were all back to normal.
