Hello All,
I used "site search" tool trying to find relevant information on this site, but failed.

I manage a cruise reservation site. We need to provide an online search function for our website visitors.

It shall be able to search and show the several factors of our products, say, routes, depature dates, prices etc.

Can anyone point me what I need to have the function?

Thanks

Depending on your scripting language there are many scripts available for "search this site".

Go to one of the script repositories and search for "search".

Do you want people to be able to look for something with one text field, or do you want them to be able to fill in multiple fields (such as departure place, departure date, destination place, destination date or cruise time)?

A normal site search is only going to be effective in the first case. If you need a typical reservation system, that will almost certainly require custom work.

Hi "txbakers",

The server for my site is ASP enabled, is there any asp script available?

I hope the script could load a calendar, and my site visittors could choose the dates through the calendar.

Thanks

Hello "danieljean",

We would need the second type, I understand that it would need expert to build the system.

Thanks

Well, you could always post something in the Commercial Exchange [webmasterworld.com] forum but just read the Posting guidelines [webmasterworld.com] first.

Hi "jatar_k"

Sorry for that post.

Please delete my last post if it's possible.

don't be sorry, I was just trying to help. There are a lot of online resources for finding freelance developers as well. A search on your search engine of choice should show a bunch of options.
