Web based- Does this exist

I've been trolling through sourceforge and looking at a few things. I need to come up with a recommendation for a new client- but I'm not sure if some of these are ready for prime time.

Basically, they want an online space where they can gather and post comments about a project.

Do you think the slashdot thing would work?

Yes it is very effective

You can have your own system also. There are plenty of system to help you setting a collaboration site online.
A forum might be ok also if it is a simple project.

Why not register on sourceForge and get all the features for free.
