Unicode in MS XSL 4 engine (server side)?

I'm currently building a site in French and English. I need international characters to work....

I'm using server side XSL transformation, using the MS XSL 4 engine. When I use an accented character, I get various results (eg A+copyright symbol!).

Is there anything you need to do to enable unicode character sets in the MSXSL engine? Or is this a known bug?

Unfortunately, so far we don't have a lot of members using XML techniques. Questions are infrequent and good answers are even more rare.

As to your question, I have no expertise but I found a reference to SP1 for MSXML 4 [xml.coverpages.org] that includes some bug fixes. Maybe that will help.
