Hi guys,
i've looked around and found that webguerrilla you had exactly the same problem quite a while ago, host says server is fine, all remedies tried and still no luck etc, air posted about reverse resolution, just wondered if this resolved the problem for you? here's the thread to refresh your memory:

[webmasterworld.com...]

It's driving me absolutely round the bend, one moment it works fine, i go to upload a few directories and then gets a blocking call error halfway through upload and i have to start again, most of the time just giving up!
And ofcourse my host has aboslutely no problems!

cheers

Hi leo,

Shortly after that thread, I got rid of the client and I switched from WS FTP to Voyager. I haven't had the problem since.

However, I do seem to remember that I did talk to a couple IT people who also said that it was really a DNS issue.

thanks webguerrilla,

i think i'll give voyager a go, i passed on the details about dns to my host, they reponded that it would only affect the initial logon as it has to resolve both ways?, and that as sometimes the ftp client worked and others not the cause was poor routing.
If i have no luck with voyager i'm going to have change host, i only just set it up this month, 2 weeks wasted on damned ftp! oh well, that's life :)

cheers WG

i gave voyager a go and no luck, i've looked closer at my hosts response and they imply that they 'actually don't' have reverse resolution setup!, so i'm going to cut my losses (which at this point is only my time) and find another host.
