We have just got a hold of some very cheap brand new Sun Cobalt Qubes from a dot bomb. Does anyone know whether we can install the Cobalt RaQ OS on them instead as we are hosting providers and the Qube OS does not seem geared up to hosting lots of sites.

Nobody replied so I just went ahead and tried it. The RaQ4i OS installed onto the Qube 3 boxes like a dream. Just took the first few down to the datacentre yesterday evening and they are earning their keep as we speak!

I was hoping to try the same thing myself.
Are they still working just fine?
Would the only drawback be that you can't get support for a machine you did that to, but they work fine otherwise?

They are still working great, we have four of them online now and have moved a couple of hundred sites onto each one. They are going fine. We have been told that the internal architecture is virtually identical to their flatter stablemates, the RaQs.

Ok, sounds great...so now I'm wondering if I got a Qube 3 Professional with the RAID 1 feature, would it be wise to use the OS for a Raq4r to be able to raid the two hard drives...?

I suppose this should work (shouldn't it?), but why haven't I heard of more people doing it? I guess Qubes just aren't too popular.
