I have a website hosted by a company. And the disk space is 200 MB --- too much space for my website. and also too bandwith, so I think is it a bit waste.
I am planing another website now, and I am thinking weather I could buy a new domain and then point it to a file on the free disc the virtual host? I hope that it is not simply a redirect to the existing www.domain.com/file/index.htm.. but would point to the file as if it is a independent website, that is, it would point to this file (www.domain.com/file/index.htm) and all people see is www.newdomain.com...
Is it possilbe? I just think most of the time we are wasting our money on free and empty disc space, if we could host serveral websites on one and our visitors won't feel a thing, that could be better..

Any comments are highly appreciated!

If you're hosted on an Apache server, your hosting company will need to reconfigure their httpd.conf file to set up a second domain for you. Some hosts will set up subdomains for a small one time fee. Best to ask your host about their policies.

Thank you for you reply,DaveAtIFG.
subdomains might not be a very good idea for my case, because they are two totally different websites. I will ask my host for help...

But before that, is here anyone who met this promblem before? how do you handle it?

Thank you.
