301 timescale for reshuffled site

months, weeks ......Forever

How long after a re-shuffle of a website would you suggest that a 301’s should be in place. Freshbot has found and listed the new pages and the old ones will remain in the index for at least a month I would think as the changeover occurred towards the very end of the month.

Any comments. Part of me thinks forever (there are not thousands).

I still get hits to old pages that were renamed many months ago. Some of the search engines seem very slow to remove them from their indexes, so I will leave them even longer.
