Server Migration Woes

Mulling the myriad of server/software possibilities

I am currently running mac beige g3 running OS 9, webstar, filemaker and lasso. I know this isn't the best choice, but it seemed to make sense at the time.

Here is my problem:

The time to upgrade is looming near and I'm in a quandry about which way to go. I can get an x-serve and all new software for the tune of $4500. This gives me stability and additional capabilities (PHP, MySQL, etc...) but still leaves me dealing with minor coding issues between lasso v3.6 and v6. I could get a CobaltRaQ 550 for $1500 and then I have the task of completely re-working 15 lasso/filemaker sites to PHP/MySQL.

Are their any reasonable options that I'm missing? I'm open to anything.

Comments? Suggestions? Anything would be appreciated.

I would recommend doing anything possible to get away from fileMaker. FileMaker is a good little desktop database, like Access, but as a robust server it leaves much to be desired.

You can probably keep your G3 and get the osX server software and run mySql on it.
