Previously we've just made paper maps, via sticky notes or index cards, or just HTML'ed some basic pages up. But we're getting into complex projects where we want to be able to delete, add, and move pages around as needed, and then print out a linked site map to be included with the invoice in order to spell out all the components.
We've tried to install Hal Helm's ColdFusion based wireframe software, and have never been able to make it work quite right for one reason or another (and don't want to spend too much time figuring it out, 'cause I'm NOT sure it will do everything we need anyway.)
Is it true that Dreamweaver could do this? I've had two eval copies over the past while, but neither turned my crank.
Thanks for your help.
The site mapping function in Dreamweaver seems very limited and awkward to use.
It's funny - I've downloaded some web menu maker programs that allow us to create all the page names & print out a site map based on that... but it doesn't create the actual pages. I've downloaded another easy content management system that will allow me to make up the pages and have them hyperlinked, but it doesn't allow for print-outs of the structure.
I even searched for .php apps that would do this on hotscripts, but have had a hard time finding the right keyword - or there's nothing like this out there in PHP.
Turns out the two ColdFusion wireframe programs both run in CF 5.0 ... would be annoying to have to upgrade just for this, but we may have to.
