Infrastructure Mode vs. Ad Hoc Mode

I am trying to install a LinkSys wireless access pointand wireless network PC card, and the installation instructions say that the devices must be operating in Infrastructure Mode, not Ad Hoc Mode.

I've looked all around and cannot find the place where I can verify that I am in Infrastructure Mode.

Read the instructions again:

Note: In order for all other wireless devices to communicate with the Wireless Network Access Point, those devices must be operating in the Infrastructure Mode. If any wireless devices are configured in the Ad Hoc Mode, they will not be recognized by the Access Point.

You'll need to check the docs for those other devices.
