any thoughts on this shopping/catalog system from a seo point of view.

seems ok for a small business, it uploads static pages.

but any experiences with integration into a site or customisation

I have used actinic and it is very search engine friendly. The site I am involed in gets good deep hits for specific terms and products. I did not take it as far as customising into and existing site but it can be done. I did delve into the templates a few times to make some things relative as oppose to fixed width but I had an accessibilty bee in my bonet(I dont wear them often).

For the price it works well. I would have some implications if you wanted thousands of lines. But it sure is quick and easy.

If you do go with it, make sure your host supports it, i think it was an isue with the CGI bin with the first host but you live and learn.

Cheers

great thanks ukgimp, i've been chatting to a rep and i'll trial it to see how it works out, my main concern is integrating it into the rest of the site

You can do what is called "actinifying" your site which is basically including the required code in the right place in your site. Or the easier option is to build your content and then link to your online shop that has a similar feel to your site.
