Redirect question

Hello everyone!
I was wondering what the best redirect for google would be. My situation is that I will be changing folder names and want google bot to go from the old folder, thats indexed, to a new folder. The content will be the same, but relocated. Is there a best way to do this?

How you implement a redirect varies depending on what server software hosts your site. Apahce/*nix hosts are most common, followed by IIS/Windoze.

I suggest you do a site search using the link at the top of your screen and learn as much as you can about redirecting on your server.

Questions about Apache servers are usually posted in the Website Technology forum. I think that questions about IIS hosting are usually posted in the Microsoft Related forum, not sure though... I am sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong! :)

Ive used asp response.redirect for similiar situations and Google doesnt seem to mind.
