My company has 40,000 verified e-mail subscribers but we are worried about running into spam filters with some ISPs. Some ISPs (e.g. @Home) have ridiculously low limits set for their incoming messages (e.g. can only be sent to "x" people before its
considered spam). We have no problem now with current methods of sending mail but if we build our subscription database in the future we might run into this scenerio.
Does anyone know of any resources that can offer more information on this subject?
To Brett,
Do you have a safe zone for splitting up addresses per message? Right now we are performing a sendmail to 75 addresses per message. It is a daily newsletter so you can imagine that we have to have a high count of addresses per message in order to get them all sent in a day. We have had no problems yet and were thinking about increasing it when we gather more subscribers.
I try to cut them off at 50 emails adrs per message and at 64k in the body of the message. Since the message above, I was able to talk the client into a smaller sized letter (20k) that contained more links to the site. That has helped the email load enourmously.
