I've been involved in writing applications delivered over the web, which is a bit different than standard websites, and even eCommerce sites.

I found this information on appML - Application Markup Language, which integrates SQL, database, and server side type processing with standard markup tags.

Very interesting stuff, thanks for the post!

Left me wanting more though, didnt see any info on where to find out more (though I'm sure my friend google will have some ideas)

After reading about 50% and skimming the rest here are a couple of burning questions:

  • Won't running the app through web-services for execution be awfully slow? - Or is one expected to build their own web-servives?
  • The webservices will presumably be very general, won't that also effect speed?
  • Anyone have any more info to share?
