Is there any way to save folders in Outlook Express to disk?

I get tired of cut and pasting contents of vital mail to Word.

I want to be able to file all my mail into relevant folders and save them as if to CD.

Any way of doing this?

I haven't found way to save the folders to disk, but from the preview screen I just highlight the mail I want to save and drag it into my folder of choice.

I burn the file to a CD once a week, grouped by week and sender.

Try Express Assist by RegSoft.com it will back up outlook express I can't remember how much it is but it's not expensive and having had a hard drive die on me is well worth the money

Are you using the store folder?
Tools->Options->Maintenance->Store Folder

You can then run a script in the scheduler to periodically back up these files

Thanks for that. I feel like a real dope, but I'm trting to work out how you do that.

I'm assuming you're dragging and dropping your mail to a folder you've created within OE rather than one outside it. (if you're doing the latter, I'm wondering how you get a folder list located outside OE to display within OE).

Assuming you're burning an OE folder to disk, does your burning program allow you to get inside OE to burn the selected folder.

Many thanks.

Manyt thanks to your guys. Sorry my last post didn't make sense - it was in response to Digital Ghost's first post - I had refreshed the page, so didn't know anyone else had posted.

I'll check out your suggestions.

I just create a directory on my desktop, with subdirectories inside it. The folders don't display within OE, but if I click on any of the mail that resides within the desktop folder, OE launches and I can read the mail.

When I want to burn the mail to CD I just drag and drop. I use Nero as my CD burning software and it will write by packet and has buffer underrun protection. I can archive my email and still have it accessible in a click.
