I'm looking for a good email server program. It must be free, stable, and easy to use. I've tried searching the web but couldn't find any. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

-Thank you.

Is it for a Unix or a Windows server?

One of the hosting companies I use recommended the ArGoSoft Mail Server for use on Windows machines. I haven't used it, but it is free.

Be careful to pick one that is standards compliant. Too many of the free windows MTAs send out malformed messages, so you might want to check google groups before you commit youself to one.

Argosoft pro. About 50 bucks. Been using it for a while, excellent server. One reason I like it is the database (user accounts, domains and such) are stored in an extremely simple flat-file format which is fast (by design) but easily editable. saved me tons of work because I can use find/replace tools to make mass changes.

Also, will run on any workstation (windows) or server.

Multiple domains (I have over 200 defined for email), and multiple users per. Also tested anti-relay options and they easily prevent my email server from being used to relay. (Very important).
