Hii,

I am seriously planning to develop two application which will the features much similiar to advertising networks like doubleclick.

Like i would want publishers and advertisers to sign up with my network and the advertisers pay us, inturn we keep a small comission and the rest will be paid to the publisher sites who will actually display the ads.

I am planning for two types of ads
1. Text ads network..much similiar to google text ads
2. button ad network ( 88 x 35 )

Technically what are all the features, the application/script to handle such a ad network should have.

Could some of you please list me the complete features from simple to advanced !?!

Thanks much in advance for the help !

Cheers
:)

It seems nobody is in a rush to help you design your ad network! :) One approach may be to simply visit some of the banner ad sites and build a list of the features they offer.

Also, I couldn't find any free example scripts while doing a quick search which surprised me, usually something turns up...

Well there is only *one* that I would recommend at this time - PhpAdsNew.

It is already *great*, but its GPL license gives you an ability to play around with it. [I am assuming you know php]

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the replies :

DaveAtIFG : Yeah, i know a couple of applications for text ads..one is open source while the other is proprietary...the later is meant for single sites or for a network of sites owned by the same company/person..meaning...it doesn't have the features that would require to run a network like doubleclick...!
The opensource one is still under development..very much in infancy stages...!As you mentioned, I'll have to take a look at their features and then improvise upon them !

NeedScripts : PhpAdsNew, i have heard from a lot of users that it lacks proper documentation, but yes, its really a powerful app, even comparing it to its commercial counterparts ! may be i should just note down its features...but nowhere i see on their site mentioning a complete list fo its features...any link for the same would be great ??

Regarding development, I have a small team of MySql and php experts, who will be developing these apps for me !

Thanks much for any feedback here !
Cheers
:)

I bet you have heard from the people who were not serious in using a good software. Here is a trick - download the software and look for the *documentation* folder ;)
