what MIME type do i declare .ace archives so that browsers other than
MSIE won't show it(plain/text)?

Caution: I'm far from an expert and simply offering a guess at this. Looking at NS 4.79 and Opera 6.0, I find zip files are defined as application/zip and associated with the .zip file extension. This leads me to conclude that your .ace archive will need to be defined similarly at the user's end in the browser.

hehe application/ace was the first one i tried... not too sure whether it was
because of that but when i tried to d/l an ace file via opera that
identified itself as application/ace opera crashed
i think if using opera etc, the user has to do define the mime type.
msie does not use the Content-Type info i think, that's why ace files
are not shown as browsercontent in msie
thanks for the reply though :)
