What do yall think? Is this something we will have to learn to use?

Trying to do their part to make the Web more child-friendly, technology heavyweights including America Online, Microsoft and Yahoo say they've labeled almost every page on their sites with an updated content-assessment system.

Been using this for years. It's simple and allows content filtering to understand who can view yor site.

I've also been using their Platform for Internet Content Selection (PICS) standard for a couple years now, however my site has a substantial edu application that warrants a rating. I wouldn't think a commercial site would need/utilize such tagging.

Please forgive the "newbie" question. I also have a web site with a large "edu" application. My site is also completely non-commerical. With that in mind, what, if any, content labeling programs should I look into?

(because of the non-commercial bit, its important that the cost be minimal to none!)

dcheney - you can see what I am using by sourcing my page (in profile) and looking at my META tags (where the PICS tags are)

The actual resources, that evaluate your site and accordingly issue the rating, can be found by dropping to the bottom of my page and clicking "privacy policy" and then dropping to the bottom of that page and following the icon links.
