Too Much Time Packaging not Enough Working

I don't know if there's anyone else up here who seems to spend more time packaging up sold items, than actually dealing with internet sales - but I've been spending most of my days swimming around in bubble wrap and cardboard.

Being in the UK, I can't seem to find a single company anywhere that could possibly do all my packaging and shipping for me. This seems like an incredible business opportunity out there for someone.

Or perhaps I'm mistaken and there are lots of them, but I'm just not looking in the right places.

Any advice?

A fulfillment house should be able to sort you out.

Movie, go to Google.co.uk and do a search

I'd be surprised if you don't find anything in the uk

Hi, I can't speak for UK businesses, but there are many fulfillment houses in the US that stock your inventory and ship it for you at negotiated fee. I speak one woman who comes to the post office every evening and she charges $5.00 USD to pack one item. They are just audio CDs, but that's her price to store and ship the CDs.

If you sell in bulk or provide high volume, perhaps the manufacturer of your product will be willing to ship the products for you (assuming they are retail items).

We do our own packing -- what helps us is to have a "pick list" or "shipping report" and pack all the orders at once. We mark each package with an order ID. I've seen other sellers print invoices and dual-purpose them as mailing labels when they place them inside those "invoice enclosed" slips.

I am in exactly the same position, I feel your frustration :(

We are currently looking to take on a new memebr of staff, we aim to take on a young person from a tech college, learn packing skills and SEO :)

Some people are born to pack, they will do it better and quicker than you ever will. In the UK [excluding the South] they earn £5 per hour, find one [free ads in the Job Centre work best].

You might look into hiring a student to come in for a few hours a day to pack and ship. Many of them would be happy for a job like this. It would probably be much cheaper than outsourcing to a fulfillment house.
