Anyone considering PaySystems that sells items even remotely suseptible to fraud, I strongly advice you not to.

Items like jewelry, car audio, computer hardware, or other high ticket items, forget it.

The fraud they allowed was unbelievable for me. They said they covered the merchant 100% against fraudulant transactions. When push came to shove, they didn't cover squat and blamed everything on me, the merchant. Of course right?

That is not acceptable, when you hand everything to them and they are supposed to be doing all the fraud checking. When merchants have no access to the credit card information, they can't do address verifications, etc.

Even after I followed up with them and asked them to check the AVS info for me again, they said everything checked out, and later I find out it was a fraudulant address. How does that happen? They probably didn't even bother looking it up when I asked them. They are completely negligent in my opinion.

Anyhow, if you sell high ticket items, forget about PaySystems or you will really regret it.

I sympathise with you, however I reckon this may be an isolated case.

I have been using Paysystems for a long time, and have NOT found them to be like you describe.

Matter of fact I was amazed at the low level of fraud that went through.

Yes they do have problems, all the time, such as DB crashing and Control Centre access being down, but on fraud they have been quite good.

all the best though.

Did I also mention they wire-transfered my CAD$ funds to me, but I never actually got it because it went somewhere else because my account "didn't have enough numbers in it"?

What about the fact their USD$ payment was always delayed and late?

They let several fraudulant transactions through, but I cancelled them because I thought they looked fishy and the phone calls to the customers went unanswered.

But the straw that broke the camel's back was when they let this $4000 fraud go through, even though I called in several and asked them to check the address thouroughly and look for anything funny. It was being shipped to the billing address aparently. (yah, right)

And then suddenly, their "100% fraud screening guarantee" magically vanished.... poof! :)

I will never use another merchant account where I don't get to do all the fraudulant screening myself. I have it down to a science now, and no one is in a better position to look after your money than yourself :)

BTW Shaq... what do you sell? you don't have to be specific... or what is the average ticket?

People selling printing cartridges, for example, have nothing to worry about I don't think.

It's people selling expensive stuff, or easily-pawned stuff that need to be cautious about merchant accounts that claim to do all the fraud checking for you.

my product is the easily pawned/sold stuff out there :)

average ticket value is High, and the product is actually a fraudsters dream.

the real trick is to make sure the fraudster doesnt even get near your order form!

Hmmmmm.... well I've been at this for 2 yrs now. Tried out MANY merchant account companies.

If you have a sure fire way to get rid of these crooks before they even get to your order form without sacrificing or scaring away legit customers, I'd love to hear it.

Write an e-book, and sell it... $99.95, endorsed by born2drv. I would buy it ;)
