.doc and .pdf

I have uploaded some .doc and .pdf forms to my web sites but they cant be accessed through the hyperlinks I have setup. I set the permissions on the files to 777 and still they dont work. Is there anything special that you must do to be able to access these documents? They are in the root directory. Thanks.

I think the problem may be with your browser, not with the actual links. You browser may have it's security settings set so that it won't download those kinds of documents. Can you download them from another, already established, website?

The problem was that I uploaded the .doc files in ASCII instead of Binary. Man, do I feel stupid. Thanks for you help XOC.
