I need some opinions on this one. I have just read that as of APRIL 10, 2001 that HTML was declared DEAD...It is now part of XML. The W3 made it official that XHTML 1.0 is the official new standard, Should we now modify our webpages to the XHTML?...If I am not mistaken XHTML is HTML are one of the same only the X is mor eproper in coding. NO caps <P> NO Good </P>
<p> Good </p>
Everything need </> Plus others..Do you think it is wise to transfer all the HTML pages to the XHTML now?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

You should see what I posted in this thread: [webmasterworld.com...]

HTML is not dead, but it is being superceded. You should at least code all new pages using XHTML transitional, and fix up old pages as you have time.

SO basically I can run my site though the XHTML conversion [chami.com...]
and things should be okay...XHTML is really just a tighten up version of HTML if I am not mistaken....

Ok, just seems out of character for you. Since it is a freebie, I think I'll give it a shot myself.

For those who need to simply convert their HTML to XHTML, the free program referenced earlier in this thread is a bit of an overkill as it is pretty large. The portion of that program which performs the conversion is the same one offered by the w3c strictly for this purpose. The w3c's program [w3.org] is downloadable, quick and very much to the point.
