Win ME problems with Email Spell Check and FTP Installation

OK, I can not install WS_FTP client on windows ME. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just myself? I have heard about bill Gates losing a lawsuit with Sun Java, and then just not including java in some of the new releases of windows. I am wondering if I will have to downgrade to win 98 in order to install WS_FTP. Can someone shed some light on this issue I am having?

Also, I can not check the spelling on my emails inside the outlook express. As I compose an email, and then click TOOLS, the word SPELLING is present, but is not bold like the other options in tools. I can not check spelling. Does this have something to do with windows ME or do I need to download some kind of dictionary add on?

I am running Windows ME and IE6.

I don't have ME, but WS_FTP runs fine on XP, so I can't see why there would be a problem with newer windows in general.

I've installed WS_FTP on 95,98,NT,2000 and have never had a problem with it. I don't think ME is the problem.

I got the FTP installed. Still can't get the outlook express to check the spelling?

While in Outlook Express: Tools > Options > Spelling and check all the boxes, then click OK

It will then check for misspelled words prior to sending. From there you may also build a custom dictionary of oddly spelled words you wish not to be scrutinized.

OE uses the dictionary from MS Works or Word. If you do not have the word processor installed, no spell check!

I have another computer and I can see the Spelling tag. That computer has Windows 98. The one I'm having a problem is with Windows Me. I have Office 2000, Microsoft Publisher, and other programs that have the Spelling Check working properly. It's just the Outlook Express that doesn't show the tag for Spelling inside Options. Thanks
