I have designed a e-stationary template in Microsoft Outlook, however when we send this out people that use other email packages dont get the picture, is their anyway that we can fix this or put a plain text hyperlink at the bottom?

That may not be the answer you wanted to hear, but the correct solution is not to use any fancy formatting in e-mail. Trust me on this one: you'll look much more credible and professional if you simply send it as plain text.

Welcome to the forums, jules.

I'd like to echo what bird said. As you've already discovered, there are compatibility issues with Outlook's stationery. In fact, there are issues with ANY kind of email enhancement beyond plain text. And even plain text has some challenges, such as line breaks and special characters.

Text is what you need, for now anyway.

Jules, it's probably not the answer you want to here, but, it cant be done. You can, however, send a normal html email which you can style.

On the plain text vs. html debate. I have found html emails get a much higher response, however, you need a way for people who cant read the email to get your info. I usually place a comment at the top of my code asking people who can read the comment to open the .txt attachment.

Chris.

How do I do that if I'm using a template and then type in my specific message each time?

By default, Outlook should automatically respond to plain text emails in plain text. So the issue comes up when you don't know what someone wants or can use...that is, the first email on a topic.

You can always change any individual email to plain text in Tools / Options / Mail Format.

I almost never use Outlook (security holes alone keep me away) - But doesn't the address book have an option for remembering whether the names there will take the fancy stuff?

Isn't there anyway I can put a plain text hyperlink in all the emails, so that if someone can't view it in html format they will still be able to see it in the plain text format. I've seen in emails before but just don't know how it's done.
