I'm wondering if the 4.7 versions and the standalone 4.08 can co-exist on the same machine. I previously had 4.08 installed (stand-alone) and would glance at my 4.77 at home to make sure they were ok.

Last week, after 4.8 came out, I was just curious as to what my sites looked like under Navigator Gold, 3.04, and downloaded it. Needless to say, many sites just showed a blank page - I think including WebmasterWorld. So I uninstalled it. But then I lost communicator (or Navigator 4.08).

My sites were ok looking in 4.08. As far as I remember, on 4.7 they were ok. But now I have 4.8 and I had to make some CSS modifications on one of the sites. (Black text was showing on a dark gray background - Not inherited as before).

So, final Q - Can you run 4.08 on the same box as a 4.7-4.8 installation?

Sure they can. I've got Netscape 2.02, 3.0, 3.01, 3.02, 3.03, 3.04, 4.03, 4.04, 4.05, 4.07, 4.08, 4.5, 4.75 & 6.2 all happily co-existing on the PC I'm using now. Just install them in separate folders and you'll be fine.
