Can someone please help me.
I am using the most current version of word, and when I save the pages, it automatically converts the jpegs to .png's and the links dpo not work. It also puts the png's in a differnent folder.
Can anyone advise me how to save these as ordinary html?
Please give advise in step by step (i.e. where the options are ) as my word is a french version, and I don't speak it, so like click the 3rd button down off etc.? would be great.
Thank you in adavnce
Rather than try to explain how do something in Word, why not get another text editor which won't ruin your work.
Word is the absolute worst program to use to create web documents. Perhaps even as bad as Pagemaker 3.0 was back then.
I use textpad available for a free download from www.textpad.com
You'll still need to write your own code, but HTML is one of the simpler languages around and there are plenty of tutorials and people to help.
If you feel you absolutely need a Graphical HTML editor, I recommend Dreamweaver, though there are others.
Good luck with your web projects!
The problem is in the way Word inserts the most HORRENDOUS propriety code..! Dreamweaver has a "Clean Word Formatting" extention but even then, you must still hand edit the results to truly clean up the code.
I suspect you are using word because it offers a type of "wysiwyg" editing environment. Don't be lulled by the ruse... Word will give nothing but grief if you continue to use it to attempt to create HTML documents.
Got to Davecentral.com and browse the WYSIWYG Editors category, you will find a number of "free" downloads, one of which should suit your needs.
Better still, check out the "Text Editors" and learn to code directly.... Many come with nice tutorials and premade templates. Aracnophilia is good and so is www.evrsoft.com 's First Page 2000 - it has a very comprehensive tutorial and refernce section. Nice program!
Best of luck!
