Does that let you connect to an IRC server? I have some of my users chatting through MIRC and the like, but I want to have the less technically advanced ones to be able to get to the chat room by just clicking on something on the website.

Try [quickchat.org...] . They supply you with a Java Applet that your users can download, and experts can use MIRC to connect to irc.webchat.org:6667. No ads either.
