Hi everyone!!!
I've a little question for you,I'm saving my web sites pages and I was thinking which one of these format would be better :

- my-domain-name-one.html
- my_domain_name_two.html
- mydomainnamethree.html

I thought it may affects search engines or it'll be the same thing in every way I'll save my pages?

thanks

2 - my_domain_name_two.html
3 - mydomainnamethree.html

Hi Wolfy,

Both options 1 and 2 are better than 3. The reason being that the search eninges (most of) will give a little extra weight to the words included in the filename ... lots less than the text, title and headings in the html but every little bit helps.

3 - will not help as substrings aren't used. There would just be too many possibilities for it to be an option.

Finally - rather than using domain name based filenames - have you thought about using keywords? .. remember to reinforce the keywords in your title, <h?> tags and in the text itself.

Yes, I took it for granted, I'll save my pages with keywords of course and my pages are already well optimized, it was just a question on which format to save them.
Now I know that it would be better options 1 and 2 .
Thank you very much Gethan.
