I have a site about building construction that gets roughly 1000 uniques a day. I have three classes of visitors:
1.those that click away after one click
2.those that view 3-5 pages
3.those that stay on the site 30 min to an hour+ and have 30-50+ page views
I get very targeted traffic.
Most pages in the site are PR7 or PR6.
Listed in ODP, ranks high in most SE.
I am being contacted by reputable building materials suppliers asking about putting ads on my site.
I don't have click thru tracking software and don't want to buy/learn it. I want to charge based on impressions I think.
How much would I charge for text or small graphic links?
All suggestions appreciated..thanks

When evaluating an advertising opportunity, I compare it to how much it would cost me to list my site in Yahoo, and how well the ad performs versus a $300 Yahoo listing. If the ratio isn't better than Yahoo, I won't consider it.

I'd say you're probably better off selling monthly or quarterly sponsorships.

How much to charge? Depends, I don't know your industry averages. (Dig around at goverture to get a feel.) Also depends on where the ads will be - under the fold? Home page? Subpages only? Also depends on the type of ad - simple text link, small graphic, large banner.

Thanks--I did as you suggested and saw the one person who had contacted me about advertising is paying $2.38 for some of his clicks--so I'd say targeted clicks are worth a lot to him.
