Someone reading this forum has recommended the books by a Ken Evoy who has published at least 2 books about web commerce, "Make Your Site Sell" and "Make Your Words Sell. "

It's not that i distrust the info i have been given, but wonder if anyone else here has read these books and would recommend them.

Do any other great authors or titles on this subject come to mind?

I would rather spend a week reading as much as you can on forums such as this then purchase the books above.

IMHO the reason his books are so popular is due to his affiliate program that pays high, and keeps lifetime commissions. Other webmasters have a reason to push his book. That alone, tells you why you need to develop an affiliate program.

Thank you for your answer.

Can anyone suggest the best place to learn about affiliate programs? i don't have a clue. It's probabl true that i could learn a lot by reading in here--i already do read a great deal in here--but it would be piecemeal and slow and disorganized.

Is there someplace like "abc's" of this stuff?

My personal recomendation would be the "Affiliate Marketing Plan Builder" e-book over at myaffiliateprogram.com. The book covers what affiliate marketing is, pre-planing, objectives and goals, structuring your program, commission structure, the launch, promotion, management etc... Alot of good info. I think the book runs ~$30.
