Hi all

I just got an email from a CJ affiliate (a big one) asking me to remove their brand name from my "keyword purchases" with "immediate effect".

It went into a speil about how the cost of the trademark had increased and had incurred many costs.

They also encouraged me to use the brand name in my Meta info.

The problem is ive never purchased keywords anywhere. Not Google, not Overture, not CJ (do CJ have keyword purchase facility?).

Im assuming this must be a mistake on their behalf, or a mass mail sent to all their affiliates, but im wondering if i could be a marketing ploy of some sorts (to what end i do not know!).

I asked for clarification on this (no reply yet).

Has anyone had anything like this?

cheers

I've gotten one of those emails from an advertiser. I had joined their program but hadn't even started up with them yet. I just assumed that it was a mass mailing.

It seems like a strange mass mailing though.

The first line is more of a demand than anything else, like a precursor to a legal letter! :)

Ive asked for more information, so ill post back the results, although I cant see it being very interesting! ;)
