After successfully adding my website to No.1 in Google and many other search engines for my targeted keywords I now find my self looking for other means of marketing.

I have a newsletter with nearly 100 subscribers for my first year, I also have many recipricol link exchanges, hence the reason why I am top in search engines.

I have created some affiliate pages advertising hotels and more for my website but I now find myself looking at other ways of creating a steady flow of quality traffic?

Their has been a few topics lately regarding 80% of traffic coming from google and how vunerable your site can be if you depend on one source for traffic.

My website is related to holidays and private holiday rentals and would like some ideas on how I can promote it through other websites. My budget is very low so I am looking to exchange pages with websites and not just links.

Does anybody have some successful experiences or advice?

I would appreciate any comments;)

Yes some great advice their;)

But has anyone ever tried web page exchanging for example

Lets say I have a travel site and decided to have a page dedicated to the local newspaper free of charge and the local newspaper also had a small article or link in their website.

Has any one tried this and do regional papers like to get involved or should I just wake up? :)

you could submit articles to news and related industry sites, and offer them the opportunity to submit articles to your site.

Ive just submitted articles to an article distribution site that allow people to use the artilces on the site for free (with a bio attached). Ive also used some of their articles on my site, as well as accepting contributions from others.

Its useful to get additional content, but you would be better to try and get a wide variety of sources.

The main reason is you have a wide variety of opinion and subjects for your users. Also, you wont be risking a duplicate content penality.

You could possibly ask your local paper if you can write a regular column and become "an expert" on your subject area.

Simply exchanging pages is difficult. I tried a similar thing but didnt get much of a response on it. Plus it will just look like a big advert. :)

Hope this helps.

You are right about swapping pages, It will just look like one big advert.

It seems to be another skill to learn with regards to press releases and writing articles for your web site.

As for the local press I can only try and hope they are interested in little me but hey we try everything once:)

Gracias

Try to pitch them in a way that will benefit them.

Outline why you are an expert in your area, and what beneficial content you can provide them and their readers.

Make sure you have decent content on your site to back up your claims! :)

Then tell them how they can benefit by contributing to your site. Let them know the kind of information or content you are looking for and flatter them! Tell them that they were the first place you thought of for quality widget information! :)

You'd be amazed how receptive the local media can be to your submissions if you have a unique angle or hook that will be of interest to their readership.
