Just wondered if anyone has experience with lodging.com. Been taking bookings for over two months and hotels are yet to settle. Anyone know whats an average length of time for hotels to pay?

I would guess three months. Longer then that and maybe you should call them.

I don't use lodging.com, but based on the several that I've had experience with you can expect a delay of at least 90 days.

BTW, though it's better now than in the past, there are some hotels that do not pay. Also, cancellations will eat into the raw sales commission quite a bit. As a rule of thumb, I figure I'll end up with a check for 3% of gross bookings.

Our hotel booking wholesaler pays up in the month following the month that the guests checked out of their hotel. Since we see plenty of bookings for 2 or 3 months in advance it really can be 3 or 4 months from the date the booking is made before you actually see your ill-gotten gains. Obviously, once you've been going a few months it will all level out....or hopefully increase each month :)

I don't use Lodging.com, but the hotel vendor that I do use is fairly quick to pay after sales have been "accomplished"--meaning guests have stayed at the hotel and checked out.
The amount of time that elapses between booking and payment depends on how far ahead a guest has booked. (I've already seen a few bookings for summer of 2003!)
