I get a bit frustrated with CJ at times though as it seems whenever I get a sale that is larger than average it is almost always reversed for some reason or other usually credit card fraud or some other reason like unverified lead has anyone else experienced this with large orders on CJ.
I wonder how easy it would be for a merchant to say their order was invalid credit card and still take an order, do CJ check these type of reversals out carefully and require merchants to provide proof when requesting reversals?
Before the order ships, a large or suspicious order may be sent to the fraud department to verify that it was indeed the valid owner of the credit card that placed the order. If not, and this is more common with large orders, the order is stopped and the commission later reversed.
I wouldn't hesitate to contact the merchant for details on any particular reversal. I have done so and am usually satisfied with the explanations.
I really don't think many, if any, merchants are reversing orders without legitimate cause. But if you see a pattern of too many reversals, especially on the more typical orders, there may be a high degree of customer dissatifaction with that merchant and you might want to look elsewere.
Reversals on product returns are typically in the range of 5-10% but may be higher on apparel items.
Reversals on leads should also be expected in that range from my experience.
