Automatic rejection of CJ publishers

Is it because I am not in the US?

On CJ there are a number of publishers that have automatically rejected my appication to be an advertiser. They don't tell you why, but I'm presuming it's because I'm not from the US. However my sites are in the US, targeting a US audience, in fact for some sites I ONLY advertise in the US. They are missing out on good revenue. Any suggestions? Do I need to set up a PO Box address in the US and sign up for CJ again using this address?

As long as you are a member of CJ I cant see any reason why a site would reject you because you are non-US. After all Cj deal with the accounting side of things. When you say automatic rejection, is is streight away or does it take a day or so. If it is streight away it may be something along the lines of the advertiser is no longer accepting new affiliates.

Automatic rejection as in straight away ... there is no reason given, and it is not because they are not accepting new affiliates. There is something in my profile which puts up a red-flag for automatic rejection I was thinking it could be:

1. not enough visitors to my site?
2. Not located in US, (even though my site is in the US)
3. ???? Just don't like me?

I have had a few rejections, which is always a bruise to the ego, but never immediate. Always after a few days (weeks) and from the merchant. I also live outside of the US so I don't see that as a problem.

I have never heard of the "immediate rejection" before. Please tell us more.

I think you're right, its done on the location you gave when you first signed up. I had one last night for a new program that came on. Most seem not to use this facility though.

Posibly the advertiser has an option to only allow sites within a certsin area.... in same state perhaps???

or posibaly allow only publisters from within country x

Immediate Rejection

I had this problem a few weeks ago, so I sent an email to the company that rejected the application, telling them it was their loss and they said:

"I came in this morning and had 31 publishers that were automatically "rejected" - I contacted CJ this morning and am waiting on a response as to a why?. By no means did --- reject you or URL - please accept my apology . I just activated you again. Let me know if you are still interested"

So it looks like there is something that rejects publishers even when it shouldn't :)

First off , Im from South Africa and find cj to be one of the better programs out there . I have also recieved rejections , some a couple days later and some immediate .

I think that when you create a site and put its details up ie. what catagory it falls under , age group etc. I think cj has the ability to check your websites details against what an advertiser wants as basic requirments .

ie. Only send me applications of possible clients if they have a site on gambling or entertainment , else reject all others immediately .

It would be a system that I would create if I owned the site to avoid having advertisers reading through 100's of applications on britney spears of fresh fruit when the advertiser is in the gambling industry .

Just a thought , I could be wrong .
