I see you can target by country or platform. Great! The product is a good 20 $ program with free 30 days demo. Very well suited for web savy persons such as Opera users.

But what about click trought?

Click throughs are more directly related to the proximity of product to your sites theme and the methods you use to promote it, rather than the product itself.

So, you won't get many clicks on a banner ad for Opera on a kids' cartoons site. However, a text ad inline with your review of the product on a site that is related to browsing/webmastering/software would probably do very well.

The price is very tempting to give it a shot.

Yes, I fully agree with you both. But I wondered how lower was click through when banners are displayed on addware. Product is focused on webmasters market.

oh, sorry I missed the question entirely. I thought you were considering promoting opera's affiliate program.

On that kind of thing, just a trial run would be about the only thing I could think of. Maybe they can provide rough clickthrough figures, why not ask?

If you sell something that savvy, webmaster types are interested in, it may be worth a shot.

I will probably suggest a trial run to my client, and keep WmW posted. Thanks everyone!

This is what we are talking about here:

[opera.com...]

NFFC, you trying that with your main product? I would be very interested in hearing the results.

As a user of the adware version of Opera, I do not click on the banners much.

However that is a deceiving measure, I do notice the banners and even read some of them.

I'm no expert but that seems like a good location for general type, brand awareness, advertising that may not depend on click throughs. Like Coca-Cola, Pepsi even Goodyear tires, Oil companies, McDonald's.

Yes, with a powerfully coloured banner.:)

If we get 0.05% click thru it will be good, any more would be great, otherwise I'll be happy to pay $500 just for the branding.

UK only campaign.

I'd recommend buying, decent return. Not very often you get people calling and telling you that they clicked on your banner.

Yeah!
