Hello,

Ive started an opt-in mailing list on my site and i was wondering how many is enough? How many people signed up do i need to make it a viable list that advertisers would want to advertise in? Throw out some numbers id like to hear your opinons.

It will of course depend on the topic of the newsletter. If you site was about "super expensive rare widgets" then you could probably find advertisers with just 1000 addresses.

For more mainstream I'd say a minimum would be 5000 to even be considered.

I had a few sites bookmarked from a while ago about ezine lists and their rates, but all these sites seem to have gone away (dot com morgue perhaps?)

I'd suggest to do a search for "ezine list advertising rates" etc. to see what other are charging. Then contact them directly and ask them what kind of take up rate they are getting with their advertisers.
